Mysql free7/5/2023 Use a long password that you cannot memorize, and store it in a password vault. Those databases hold sensitive information, so the last thing you need is to make use of a weak password that can be easily cracked. Just to be certain, I wanted to remind you how important it is to set a difficult password for the MySQL root user. Set a difficult password for your MySQL root user You can now set, reset and recover your MySQL password. You should now be able to log into MySQL with the new password.Īnd that’s it. Restart the MySQL daemon with the command sudo service mysql restart. Where NEWPASSWORD is the new password to be used. mysql> update user set authentication_string=password('NEWPASSWORD') where user='root' Connect to the MySQL server as the root user with the command mysql -u rootĪt this point, you need to issue the following MySQL commands to reset the root password:.Start the MySQL server with the command sudo mysqld_safe –skip-grant-tables –skip-networking &.Stop the MySQL server process with the command sudo service mysql stop.In order to recover the password, you simply have to follow these steps: What if you’ve forgotten your MySQL root user password? This could be quite the predicament had the developers not thought of that eventuality. When prompted, type the admin password, and you’re good to go. You should now be able to log into the MySQL command prompt with the new admin password like so: Once your command prompt is returned, restart the MySQL daemon with the command: With the daemon stopped, issue the command: Next, stop the MySQL daemon with the command: Where PASSWORD is the new password to be used. Easton continues to send pieces (both professional and personal) to Bark, both for his critical eye and the shop’s manufacturing capabilities: “I don’t know of any other framer that has both gilders in-house as well as a metal shop,” she says. “I had never before considered the importance a frame plays in how one looks at a work of art,” she says, noting that one of Bark’s new frames for a Monet changed the viewing experience entirely by revealing an additional 45 square inches of the canvas. Easton and Jed Bark spent ten years studying the collection before replacing the generic Louis XIV – and Louis XV – style frames with hand-carved ones made to honor the artists’ brushstrokes and composition. When Elizabeth “Buffy” Easton first started working with Bark Frameworks, she was the chair of the European-paintings department at the Brooklyn Museum and had undertaken the sensitive task of reframing some of the museum’s Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. “They’re always playing cool music.”īark Frameworks, 21-24 44th Ave., Long Island City “It feels like a little artist community in there,” Eckstein says. He has since made some updates, like adding new materials to the inventory and hiring his own staff (who Eckstein says did an “incredible job” with an uneven painted metal sign by a Jamaican artist that he recently brought in). Collignon has owned the business since 2018, when he took it over from his mentors. “Frame shops in the city are going to charge double what Adam Collignon charges, and the quality will be sometimes worse,” says Eckstein, recalling a 30-by-20-inch piece that came in at a $300-to-$400 framing estimate at Greenpoint Frames and $1,000 in Manhattan. Eckstein has since moved out of the neighborhood, but the vintage-furniture and art dealer still heads back to Greenpoint for framing (for both his store and home) because of the shop’s excellent price-to-quality ratio. The Somerset House founder Alan Eckstein has gone to Greenpoint Frames for five years. Greenpoint Frames, 937 Manhattan Ave., Greenpoint Nakajima recently needed eight large, delicate Philip Guston works in frames with gold leaf applied by hand it would ordinarily be a six-week job, but Downing had them ready in a month. “Downing does everything for us,” says Yuta Nakajima, senior director at Hauser & Wirth, adding that the framer can pull off feats with remarkable turnaround. When multimedia artist Erin Shirreff wanted her pieces built inside the frame (think of a model ship in a bottle), she called the Long Island City framer. For artist Mariah Robertson’s geometric chromogenic prints, Downing created asymmetrical polygon frames. For Deana Lawson’s recent show at the Guggenheim, Downing incorporated mirrors, stickers, and holograms into frames for her interactive works. No request is too far-fetched for Downing Frames, which has been building pieces (from $200 to $38,000) for blue-chip artists, galleries, and museums like MoMA and the SculptureCenter for nearly 15 years. Downing Frames, 4261 24th St., Long Island City February 18 : Sheeran hit #1 for 10 weeks on the ARC Weekly Top 40 with " Shape Of You.February 11 : Sheeran performed " Shape Of You " and " Castle On The Hill " on Saturday.
Light table toys7/4/2023 He drilled a hole in the side of the table for the remote receiver (more on that in a minute) and the power cord for the lights to come out.Īfter playing around with a strip of LED lighting from a local hardware store, we decided that it wasn’t quite enough to illuminate the whole table and that we needed more. He used this to create a bottom to the table where he could run the lighting. It was called MDF board and it cost about $5-10 for what we needed, including cuts. Jay bought the cheapest board at the hardware store and had them cut a rectangle. Jay dropped the table top off at his store so that the glass would be cut to fit perfectly into the opening. It took exactly a week because Paul cuts the glass and then sends it out to be tempered. Paul explained that while plexiglass was a little stronger, it scratches easily and wasn’t the most suitable play surface.īy choosing to go with tempered glass, Paul could then add a white opaque tint to one side, which would diffuse the light the way Jay wanted. After explaining exactly what he wanted, Paul suggested that Jay just purchase tempered glass which made it very safe and a lot stronger than regular glass. Wrong! We found out that plexiglass with the white tint is really hard to come by and very expensive.Īfter a frustrating search for plexiglass online, at the hardware store and everywhere else (we had hoped it would be inexpensive), my husband spoke to Paul from Paul’s Glass in Greenwood (317.885.1924 – 101 North Meridian, Greenwood). There were so many do-it-yourself things on Pinterest and everywhere else that looked so easy and they made it sound like it wouldn’t cost us very much. Then I tasked my husband with figuring the rest out. I bought it, stuck it in the back of my car and took it home. When the middle panel was removed, there was a lip that held that panel in. This table was perfect because it had a border all around it that held in a single wood panel that made up the majority of the tabletop surface. That morning I just happen to stop by Goodwill and I found the perfect coffee table for only $10. I also knew that if I was going to do anything like let my kid play with liquid watercolors on the water table it had to be a little bit more durable than just a tabletop box. I did some research and I found I could buy light boxes for the tabletop and other products that would give my kids a similar experience but the light table I really wanted, the one that looked exactly like this other woman’s was $450 plus shipping. That moment I knew that I, errr, my kids, HAD to have a light table. Paper towels? Watercolors? Who cares? Yeah, I didn’t know there was such thing as liquid watercolors but come on! A light table? What the heck is a light table? “She’s using liquid watercolors on a paper towel on the light table.” One day I asked her about a specific picture, “What is she doing?”. Before Instagram, I had no idea what it was and thanks to a total stranger, I would see pictures of her daughter doing so many interesting things on this illuminated surface. For instance, apparently everyone in the whole world knows what a light table is. When I started following people I didn’t know on Instagram and seeing little tiny snapshots of their lives I began to learn about things that I didn’t know about. It’s no secret that the Internet opens up whole new worlds to many people and I am no exception. Team sonic racing sale7/4/2023 The levels are just so weird, and the challenge all over the place. Then you get some levels where it looks like it is impossible to die in any way because there are no pits and huge massive areas where you could walk around every enemy, and you could just basically walk to the end almost without needing to even jump. To give an idea, there were lots of instant deaths in these areas, either worms eating you or running into walls or falling down in the auto scrolling level. I don't know if it got harder again after that. After he got a bit further into the game, the game difficulty seemed to plummet and become easy. A friend of mine decided to play it later and I watched him, after telling him this. I had a really tough time with some earlier levels and decided I couldn't be bothered. The difficulty doesn't seem to be linear, in that the worlds don't get more difficult as you go on. I played a years ago, and didn't finish it. It's still an ok racer, but just feels like such a huge missed stepback You would think that SEGA would double down on exploiting their rich history? how about racing on a dragon from Panzer Dragoon? No? ok, how about bringing Nights or Ristar to actually race? no. No SEGA roster, just plain ol' Sonic characters. Top that off with the very charming stages and transformed mechanics and you get a great game that can (arguably) go toe to toe with Mario Kart 8.Īnd then you get Team Racing that just throws all that shit out the window. Allstar took it to the next level with more varied stages and characters from even more oldschool franchises and cameos all around (fuckin RISTAR ffs), it was weird that they threw some random shit like Football Manager or that RTS war game that are so fucking generic that nobody cares about them (Danica Patrick or Ralph are ok I guess, but feel very out of place) and then you get some out of this world crazy amazing characters like Ryo racing on a fucking OUTRUN arcade cabinet, or Joe Musashi from Shinobi racing it with the Shinobi 3 OST that just made me cream my pants. SEGA has a very rich gaming history, with great characters, the first Sonic Racing gave us a glimpse at that, with a brief look at stages from different games and a solid roster with chars from different franchises. Team Sonic Racing conceptually seems like such a stepback compared to the previous games. It also boasts an impressive soundtrack including tracks by the iconic Sonic series sound director Jun Senoue and the musicians behind the 2016 Sonic Adventure Music Experience.Submit a new deal Submit a question/PSA Reddit New Deals Popular Deals Meta In addition, there are 21 tracks based on the Sonic Universe. It features 15 beloved Sonic characters including the likes of Knuckles, Metal Sonic, and Shadow the Hedgehog. SEGA was of course behind Team Sonic Racing. Attention to Humble Bundle’s offer on the PC version of the game is recommended as prices could drop on that outlet as well. It is, however, currently at its normal retail price. PC players can grab the game as well, available as a digital only release. It is also on sale on Amazon for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The game is the first to do so since Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games came out in 2008. It has since reached the top spot in this week’s UK charts. Team Sonic Racing, the latest in the renaissance of chaotic, arcade-style, racers centered around large franchises, was released on May 21st, 2019. At an original price tag of $40, the sale makes Team Sonic Racing even cheaper. Gran turismo 7 ps4 20167/4/2023 License tests have been a mainstay feature for every Gran Turismo game admittedly, it’s nothing new, but they’re there because they work. I probably spent half my time with Gran Turismo 2 managing to perfect my skills and attaining all golds on all the tests, earning all of the prize cars that way, and it’s been the same with Gran Turismo 7. Things like getting a racing license, for example. It’s been a long time since I’ve been into a racing game this much, where I’m looking forward every day to driving around, and for as little as it might end being, I’m feeling rewarded each time. In fact, it’s the best that it’s been in years, thanks in no part to the DualShock 5 controller’s haptic feedback, which is amazing in this game – making you feel every bump and crack in the road, puddles and whatnot, as well as your car’s gear shifting, engine roar – but also to the varying sense of control tightness that each kind of car provides while tearing around tracks, and also the scaling options for driving assists that are incredibly customizable. It would be easy to fault developer Polyphony Digital and franchise director Kazunori Yamauchi for their overly eccentric delivery with Gran Turismo 7 if the racing itself was no good, but it’s anything but bad. I told you Gran Turismo 7 is quirky, so stop rolling your eyes! Back at the car wash, car wash, yeah… And you guessed it, with each new one of these that you complete, you get a lesson about something relating to cars. In fact, the café is the most important location of all as it gives you quests to partake that slowly doles out new game features and special events as you collect cars by participating in events and tournaments. That’s right, you get to sit and listen to some geezers go on and on while sipping on a cup o’ joe in this game, or as close to it as possible, except for the coffee. You can check the cars you own in the garage, go buy new or used one at either car shops, where you can also check out each vehicle’s extensive history files, go to the museum, buy new parts, take pictures, have a coffee, or hey, actually do some gosh-darned racing. Gran Turismo 7 consists of a number of different locations on a map that would otherwise be menu items in any other game. Is it the best racing game I’ve ever played? Surely not, but it’s put together in a way that makes for some good bite-sized slices of gameplay for a few minutes to an hour total a day. So to my surprise, for as much as Gran Turismo 7 tries to keep me from actually racing with all of its slow to pop text boxes, excessive videos, and cluttered menus, I’ve been putting some quality time in daily, plucking away at challenges and hell, enjoying my time with it quite thoroughly. In fact, ridiculously enough, even though I own all of the Gran Turismo games over all four generations of PlayStation, their total playtime probably doesn’t add up to a fifth of what I played of Gran Turismo 2. Over the years, though, I played less and less of Gran Turismo for many reasons, but mostly due to converging facts: with each new game, there was more to do and more stuff in the way of the actual racing, and I had increasingly less time to play games as an adult. I was in school and I had a lot of time to kill, so that game took over and didn’t let go for months. It was very in-depth for the time, and for someone like me, who’s always had a knack for appreciating auto racing somewhat casually, Gran Turismo 2 especially came at just the right time. Back then, Gran Turismo was incredibly unique, because it was the debut console game to take racing seriously and provide a realistic enough experience in game form of driving a car around a track. Gran Turismo 7 is the latest entry in Polyphony Digital’s long-running racing simulation series that started on the first PlayStation. It’s SO into cars, their history and every facet of driving that even if you can’t tell a shift clutch apart from a brake disc, you won’t be able to help but be fascinated about its existence. Have you ever had a friend who’s really into something? So much so that they sometimes come off as a bit crazy, but you still enjoy hanging out with them regardless because in the end they’re so passionate that it’s somehow contagious? Well, Gran Turismo 7 is like that.
